Do I need to leave a charity money in my will?
No, you are not obligated to leave anything to your chosen charity, but any gift would be greatly appreciated to help a cause that means something to you.
If you do choose to, there are no restrictions as to what can and can't be left to charity in your will. You are free to leave as much or as little as you wish. You can also choose to leave any possession or asset that you own to charity, including your property, land, shares or a specific item of jewellery or a piece of art for example.
Will it cost me anything to write my will?
Supporting your chosen charity will allow you the opportunity to write a simple will for free.
For more complicated wills, additional features will be charged once agreed between the client and solicitor. This includes, for example, adding a Power of Attorney to your will.
